Workshops

We hold workshops, generally on the second Saturday of the month but occasionally over the whole weekend, from September to June.  These are usually held in Dingwall, Ross-shire.   They provide a great opportunity to meet up with like minded people and learn a diverse range of skills from spinning different types of fibres, through various types of weaving to basketmaking, felt making, the use of natural and synthetic dyes and many others.

Full details of forthcoming workshops and booking forms are circulated in March, August and December and as workshop places are often limited you are encouraged to book early if you are interested in a particular discipline. Workshops generally run from 10am to 3.30/4.00pm.  Cost: currently £20 per day for members, £25 for non members.

If you want to see what goes on at a workshop you are welcome to drop in for an hour or so around lunchtime (between 12.00 and 2.00) for a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit and a chance to see what we are doing and ask questions (cost £1).

Local events

In the summer months small groups of members demonstrate their skills at some of the agricultural shows and craft fairs.  Members also take part in local craft events at other times of year.

Exhibitions

Every few years we hold an Exhibition to display our diverse work. Our 2010 exhibition toured Highland with weekend sessions at Nairn Community Centre, Castlehill Heritage Centre, Caithness, and the Aros Centre, Portree.  In 2005 out exhibition was in the Inverness Museum in October/November.
